Lawrence White

Lawrence White

I am a storyteller that draws, edits, swears, and drinks lots of caffeine out of necessity to keep all this moving forward.

I was raised a free spirit in the very isolated world of Idaho (yes, our potatoes rock…I get it!) but I didn’t let that stop me from being a wild child amongst the conservatives.

I grew up on a steady diet of 70’s and 80’s Marvel and DC comics which resulted in my first commercial work for the local TV station at the wise age of twelve.

Also at 12 years old, I discovered the “independent market” through trade magazines and mail order forms. Companies like First Comics, Eclipse and Comico set my little brain on fire. John Byrne’s, Frank Miller’s, Stan Lee’s and (of course) Alan Moore’s work…along with American Flagg, Jon Sable: Freelance, Nexus, The Elementals, and The Justice Machine formed me into the storyteller I am today.

I always had the talent but never had any formal art training until I was well into my 20’s. It was Bob Beason (my good friend, business associate and true mentor) that taught me the fundamentals to take all of these ideas and passion and channel it to take it to the next level. Thanks, Bob!

After doing a lot of indie comics and movie projects that never went anywhere (and refusing to draw like any Image Clone in the 90’s), I decided I would start my own company in early 2000. Little did I know the adventure ahead. Sometimes, ignorance IS bliss.

I walk around with a million characters in my head. So most of what you see on this site I either created, co-created, or I am lucky enough to help incubate into a living, breathing comic book with talented people that have a PASSION for what they do.

Remember, kids…if you want to be successful…

Build around YOUR talents. If there is something you don’t like or can’t do…find smarter people than yourself that have a PASSION for what you don’t. Building a team will not only make YOU successful, but those around you, as well. Those that have the “me” mentality have a way of stopping their own greatness. So don’t waste too much time slowing yourself down.

All you see that is associated with WHITE EYE PRODUCTIONS originated from the love and guidance I had from my late father, Howard White. I know I gave him ulcers growing up but he taught me to ALWAYS follow your dream and to do so…you need to GIVE in order to GET!
