Derik Wesley
Being raised in a small Midwestern town in Indiana there really wasn’t that must to do. To stimulate my imagination and beef up my creativity I turned to comic books and anything science fiction. I grew up on Legion of Super Heroes and the X-Men and that drew my attention to team books. I’ve never really been a fan of the lone hero against the world, ala Spider-Man or Batman. I feel that is reflected in both of my novel series, The StrikeTeam series (along with my co-writer GS Robison) and The Blackbird Chronicles. Both use expansive casts. In fact, there are so many characters running around in The Blackbird Chronicles that I was forced to create my own encyclopedia. I’ve been writing fiction since I was in grade school and have fallen in love with the whole concept of the written word.
When the opportunity presented itself to become involved with White Eye I knew this was a once in a lifetime chance and I am so glad that I’m along for the ride. I’ve currently penned tales for Time Agents and Lady Knights and have plans for a super hero epic the likes of which no one has ever seen before in The Preemptive.
The future of the comic book industry is right here and I’m standing on the ground floor. Knowing that, I couldn’t be more pleased to be here!
