My name is David Roberts and I’m one of the two writers working on the Seraphic comic currently being illustrated by Ivica Sretenovic (the other writer being Charlie Hess). I’m currently a senior undergrad at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, majoring in English and Communication. I was born on April 1, 1987 in Orlando, Florida and this is my first venture into comic book writing. I have prior experience in other creative writing mediums through my English department studies in college and having been a comic book fan since a fairly young age, I’ve long been interested in trying my hand at the creative side of a genre that has brought me much enjoyment. I’m actually planning on penning a novel companion piece to Seraphic as my senior thesis for graduation next year, so seeing Ivica’s work so far on a project that I’m so tied to has been very exciting and rewarding.

I got involved with White Eye through Charlie Hess, the other writer and a good friend of mine since Junior High School. I had been developing the story line in my head for some time and had been wondering since around 2006 what the best way to get it out there would be. Comics presented itself as an obvious method and Charlie quickly found Lawrence who conveniently enough, lives pretty close to us here in Utah. We’ve been slowly but steadily trying to get the project off the ground ever since. My favorite comic genre’s are your typical super hero fare, particularly Bendis’ work on Ultimate Spider-Man, Miller’s work with Batman, Whedon’s X-Men, and my all time favorite book, Moore’s Watchmen. Seraphic is more Sci-Fi/grounded character fiction and is something I truly very excited about.
