From Jaymes Reed, LANDER is the story of a girl named Haley whose life was less than righteous—right up until she died in 1999. For her lack of judgment, she is thrust into a “Time Game” played between God and Satan: a nearly timeless battle for the most souls by time’s end, with mere mortals as trinkets to be collected. This game is played by Them, but the pawns are called “Landers”. Some Landers are good, or more righteous than evil; some Landers are bad, more evil than righteous.

Haley is forever doomed to possess human females throughout history from the dawn of civilization to the date of her death in 1999. Once she Lands, Haley’s presence is unknown to anyone around her for she retains the form of the woman she has “possessed”, even though the artist will draw Haley’s Lander appearance.

To add further complications, Satan himself is in her head, either deceiving or helping her. Her goal is to alter the way events occur on the timeline she happens to be on. Once a change has been made, Satan is out of her head and her angel, Skippy, arrives to assist her for the rest of the Landing until she Launches. Her soul then journeys within a comet throughout space and time until arriving back at Earth in a new time and in a new place… only to enter the atmosphere, dissipate from the heat and the remaining smoke of it drifting to surround her next “possession” until Haley asserts herself to play the game again throughout the remainder of time.
